Natural Flea & Tick Prevention Tips:

Internally/Orally

• Feed a high quality meat based natural diet free of by products and chemicals.

• Add garlic to diet from May through September (use appropriate dosage for fresh garlic). When garlic is given in the proper dosage and frequency it is quite beneficial having anti-fungal, anti-parasitic, and immune system boosting properties.

• Provide your pet with immune system boosting supplements.

• Discourage fleas and ticks with these supplements: Earth Animal Herbal Internal Powder (dogs & cats), Animal Essentials Green Alternative (dogs & cats) and human grade diatomaceous earth (can be given orally or used topically for dogs & cats).

Topical Products to Repel and/or Kill Fleas & Ticks

• Make your own essential oil repellant mix…using Citronella, Neem, Geranium, Rosemary, Cedar Oil, Lemongrass, Bergamot, and Peppermint Oil (and suspended in vodka (alcohol)… FOR USE ON DOGS ONLY.

• Use Wondercide Evolve Cedar Oil spray to kill fleas and ticks on contact. Can be used on pet bedding, floors, etc. (check label for instructions).

• Use an herbal flea & tick collar on your pet.

Maintenance

–Use human grade diatomaceous earth on bedding, on pet, and sparingly in vacuum cleaner. This will essentially dry up the fleas and/or ticks.

–Bathe your pet often or every week if he/she is at higher risk (i.e. camping, hiking, live in woodsy areas).

–Flea comb your pet often to check or get rid of any adult fleas and to check for ticks.

–Use Wondercide Cedar Oil spray, topically, to prevent/discourage fleas and ticks on your pet.

–Keep your grass cut fairly short to limit the places fleas and ticks can live. And, if at all possible, avoid areas with high grass, brush and woods during peak tick season (May through October).
